Florida Gators vs. Vanderbilt
The last game between Florida vs. Vanderbilt was on October 13. The most stunning news was Jeff Driskel as a quarterback set the Florida rushing record with 177 yards topping the previous record set by Tim Tebow with 166 yards against Ole Miss in 2007. The Florida Gators won the match by 31-17 in which Jeff Driskel scores all the touchdowns. Driskel said, “We kept running really the same play, and they didn't really make adjustments. So we kept going to it. If something's working, keep going for it." Driskel was able to achieve 150 of his 177 yards on 6 zone read runs. Although the Commodores had an early lead of 7 points, Florida got the control of the game by scoring 21 unanswered points. The Vanderbilt had to put more defenders in the box against Driskel’s and another running back of gators Mike Gillislee’s 28 rush attempts. In spite of added defenders, these two still averaged 8.8 yards per rush. The showdown for the top spot next Saturday will be between South Carolina and Florida gators. Although South Carolina’s defense is one of the best rushing defense in the country, but the Gators dynamic duo Driskel and Gillislee will put up a good fight this season.
